Responsible supply chains

Rento products are manufactured in Finland, in Europe or in Amfori BSCI-audited factories when the factory is located in a country at risk by Amfori Country Risk Classification. The country of manufacture of each product can be found on the product card. The Rento brand is owned by the Finnish family-owned company Tammer Brands Oy. Tammer Brands is a member of the Amfori BSCI network of companies, which aims to improve social performance in international supply chains and harmonize supplier monitoring. The Amfori BSCI system is based on the UN’s and ILO’s conventions on human rights and working conditions.

Long lifetime, high-quality range

With a special focus on longevity and quality, the products in the Rento range will stand the test of time and use, both in terms of quality and design. In the Rento range you will always find modern and innovative sauna products that are designed to both inspire all the senses and last in use. Many products come with instructions for use and care to help keep the product in good condition, so it will serve you for a long time.

Materials

Experimenting with new materials and production methods, continuous product development and paying attention to environmental impact are at the heart of our Rento ideology. All materials are selected to withstand time, gaze and ethical consideration. We aim to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce the amount of packaging materials without compromising product protection. We prefer recyclable packaging materials such as cardboard and the packaging is provided with recycling instructions.

The main materials used are:

Aluminium is a light, strong and easy-to-work metal that is not vulnerable to corrosion. Anodising increases the durability of aluminium and the process produces the different colours of Rento aluminium products. It takes a lot of electrical energy to produce aluminium, but aluminium can be recycled basically forever. Aluminium recycling works well in Finland.

The heat-treated, laminated bamboo of Rento products is a light and durable material. The bamboo plant grows very quickly and does not require much water to grow. Bamboo products will stay beautiful for a long time, as long as you don’t leave them in a hot and humid sauna.

We use DuraSense™ by Stora Enso biocomposite and the wood fibre content of Rento biocomposite products is 40%. The material is a combination of polymers and wood from the by-streams of the manufacture of wood products and pulp, from Nordic forests with a chain of custody certificate from an external party. Biocomposite products are designed for long-term use. DuraSense™ biocomposite can also be reused as a material up to seven times, recycled with other plastics and then finally at the end of its life cycle it can be used for energy production.

Rento textiles are made using surplus cotton from the textile industry. The surplus cotton is collected in mills and processed into a form that can be used as fibre.

Responsible Choice
The label is Tammer Brands’ own symbol; it indicates that the product has been manufactured with sustainability in mind.

Vegan
The label is Tammer Brands’ own symbol; it indicates that no ingredients of animal origin have been used in the manufacture of the product.

Natural
The label is Tammer Brands’ own symbol; it indicates that only ingredients of plant origin have been used in the production of the product.

Key Flag Symbol
Product is made in Finland.
