Rento Ice Crystal is a menthol-scented sauna scent in crystal form
With menthol-scented sauna crystals, you can create a true spa atmosphere in your home sauna. Using these crystals provides a refreshing menthol scent in the sauna, and throwing water on the stones gives the skin a unique cooling sensation – a cool yet harmless bite. Rento Ice crystal sauna scent is also an excellent product for the flu season, as the menthol-crystalline fragrance can even clear a stuffy nose. Even just one crystal placed on the sauna stones is enough to create a unique sauna experience.
Instructions and tips for using sauna crystals
- Start using the crystal flakes with a small amount, for example one tiny crystal about 0.5 cm in size. The crystals are made from mint oil (Mentha arvensis), making them strong and long-lasting – just a small piece will provide refreshing menthol steam.
- Carefully place one crystal on top of a sauna stone (note: cool the stones with water beforehand), or let it dissolve in warm sauna water—for instance in the bucket or ladle—before throwing it onto the stones.
- For a milder menthol scent, place the crystal in a water-filled container (suitable for sauna use) on top of the stones. Make sure the water is warm, as the crystal won’t dissolve in cold water.
- Before using another aroma or essential oil, rinse the hot stones with water to remove any remaining menthol.
- Handle the crystals with care and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Avoid touching your eyes, as the product can cause severe irritation.
- If the substance contacts your skin, rinse the area with plenty of water. Menthol on the skin creates a distinct cooling sensation and increases circulation in that area. This may be irritating but is not harmful; the sensation will fade shortly.
- Please note that the product should never be placed directly on electric sauna heating elements, as the crystal may catch fire.
- Store the crystals out of children’s reach, in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store them in the sauna to prevent melting inside the package (melting point approx. 41°C).
